To celebrate the opening of An Lanntair's new premises in October 2005, a CD of specially commissioned music has been released by the centre.

PAUL MOUNSEY
This award-winning Scottish composer recently relocated to the Isle of Skye having spent the past twenty years living and working in Brazil. His work on television, film and most recently in collaboration with popular Scottish band "Runrig" has won him critical acclaim at home and abroad.
MARY SMITH
One of the Island's most respected traditional singers and a frequent representative of the tradition at overseas festivals. Mary is also a visual artist who taught in Australia and throughout the Western Isles for many years. Her album "Sgiath Airgid", released in 2004, was a long overdue and critically acclaimed selection of songs from throughout the Islands. ISHBEL MACASKILL
Actress and singer Ishbel has been described as "Gaeldom's first lady of Soul", and was the only Scottish artiste to be invited to take part in the Israeli Festival. She also was a member of both the "Gaelic" and "Scottish Women" projects and is a regular teacher at Feisean (traditional music tuition festivals) all over Scotland. Through her numerous television and radio appearances she is possibly the best-known Gaelic singer today. (checked - photo submitted)

ALYTH MCCORMACK
From the new wave of contemporary singers in the traditional world, Alyth gained a BA in BA in Performance from Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She h She has appeared solo, as a member of Scottish bands "Shine" and "Sunhoney" and h has also pursued an acting career through tours with a number of Scottish and Irish theatr theatre companies. ANNA MURRAY
Having started her performing life as a piper, Anna has moved effortlessly to the worlds of song, drama and TV presenting and to date has three solo albums of traditional piping and song under her belt. She was a member of the highly successful "Gaelic" and "Scottish Women" music projects and was the first Gaelic singer to take part in Moscow's Scottish Festival in 2002.

MACKENZIE
Sisters Eilidh, Gillian and Fiona Mackenzie were born and brought up on the Isle of Lewis where their father Rodney was an active Choirs leader and conductor. It is little wonder then that they have been singing together since childhood, although their first public performance was in 1996. Since then they have produced two albums collectively and undertaken a number of solo and band projects including work with "Seelyhoo", "Anam" and "Mactalla".

CHRISTINE PRIMROSE
Currently teaching Gaelic song at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, the Gaelic college on the Isle of Skye, and a regular artist/lecturer in the United States and Canada, Christine has won gold medals for traditional singing at the National Mod and the Pan Celtic Festival in Kilarney. She was a member of the group "Mactalla" who were hailed as the Gaelic singing group of the 90's, and has also released three solo albums, each receiving rave reviews at home and abroad. KEVIN MACNEIL
It is particularly appropriate that Kevin was chosen to read the poetry of the late Iain Crichton Smith having been the first recipient of the Crichton Smith Writing Fellowship (1999-2001). To date he has produced four books, his latest - a novel entitled "The Stornoway Way" - is published by Penguin. Kevin is also currently working on a commissioned play. (checked - photo submitted)
